FAQ's

  • How can I get farm counselling services?
    If you are an OFA member and live in Hastings, Lennox and Addington, Northumberland, Prince Edward, and Lanark counties, you (or a family member) can access up to four sessions with a mental health professional. Request an appointment by visiting our BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT page.
  • Can my family member access counselling through the program?
    The program covers four sessions per one OFA membership. Your family can work with the service provider to determine how those sessions are used and if there are any special circumstances.
  • I’m concerned about people knowing I’m doing counselling. Is it confidential?
    Yes! Our program is completly private and confidential. We understand there are reasons you want to be discrete about accessing services. And that's okay. We can guarntee you that, Your name and identity are always kept private Trained mental health professionals deliver the service You will feel safe and comfortable at all times
  • Can I keep going after 4 sessions?
    Once members have utilized their four sessions, they can have a discussion with the service provider regarding cost of ongoing service.
  • Can we do a consultation first, to learn about the service?"
    Absolutely. Before starting a session, you can chat with the service provider and determine what type of counseling will be the best fit for you.
  • Who decides where we meet?
    During the initial consultation, you can work with the service provider to determine where and how you meet, whether it is virtually, or in-person.
  • What do I do if I need immediate help?
    Please call your local emergency crisis services. Do not wait. While we hope to respond to everyone requesting services, this program is not meant for crisis situations. If you require immediate mental health help, please see the local area numbers available for help on our CRISIS INFO page.
